First day of Preschool

Well the day has come.  My baby girl is starting preschool.  She has slowly started to make her departure out of our house and into school.  This year she will only go Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 12.  That might not seem like much, but for me it is.  She has only ever taken classes that I've been able to go with her to.  It's weird to think she's in a classroom and I have no idea what she's doing or if she's behaving!  When asked what she wanted to be when she grew up she said an artist and a model.  Then my mom proceeded to tell her that models don't get to eat candy, cake, or cookies, so after some thought, she decided only on an artist.
Here's our big girl!

The main objective this year for us, is for Addison to learn how to be a student.  Being a teacher myself, I know how important it is for her to learn how to function in a classroom so the teacher can really teach the class.   I also know the importance of nice teacher gifts.  Here's what we came up with for the first day of school.

Teacher supplies that all had a cute saying to go with it. LOVE PINTREST!

**Bragging Alert!  After her first day (which was only an hour) her teacher said to me "Wow...she's REALLY bright!".  Aw...I'm blushing!  I said thanks and then asked the teacher to please do her best to show Addie that she's (meaning Addie) not the boss.  Addison is a "right" fighter.  She LOVES to be right (gets this from her Nana maybe?).  She is also a rule follower and wants everyone else to follow the rules.  So these are some traits we are hoping she can work through this year.  Don't get me wrong, we want her learning academic things as well, and she is also a very sweet, loving, kind, generous, out going girl!  We just want to set her up to be the most successful she can be during her school career.  (Man am I putting way too much into PRESCHOOL???!!...if so please don't judge!  It's just a mommy's heart to want all the best for her baby, right?)  So far all is good, (although I guess Addie has argued already that she wants to still write her name in all CAPS...oh Heaven help us!)  We are happy with her teacher and hope the Lord will bless our girl as she grows and matures this year!
